The BF corner: crescent strudel

My BF is actually a pretty good cook too and I am trying to convince him to write a post here and there. He whipped up this strudel one evening after dinner and it was so easy and good that I decided I should share it on my blog. And then I thought it would be nice if he would share it. And then I decided maybe I can bring him to be a regular and I should create a BF corner. So here it is. This time he only conceded to writing the procedure and ingredients. I hope in the future he will be a bit more talkative…

The BF corner: crescent strudel

  • 1 roll store-bought crescent dough
  • 2 tbsp minced chocolate for baking
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp apricot jam
  • 1/3 cup minced dry dates and figs
  • Alternative ingredients, other than dates and figs would be pears, which go very well with chocolate.

  1. Dough was flatten out on a baking paper sheet placed on a oven pan of appropriate size, while oven was preheated at 350 F. Ingredients were evenly disposed on the dough and then sprinkled with sugar. Dough was folded similarly to a croissant paying attention to overlap consecutive layers. Once folded and closed, dough was sprinkled with sugar and cocoa shavings.

Mmm, I never would have known that crescent rolls could be used to make such delicious strudel. I have a sweet treat linky party going on at my blog and I'd like to invite you to stop by and link your strudel up.

I really like strudels! I also like the filling that you guys used… figs and dates, especially!
